The Western Force is excited to confirm the re-signing of Wallaroos midfielder Cecilia Smith for the 2026 Swyftx Super Rugby Women’s season.

The 31-year-old centre made a great impression during her maiden season at the Force in 2025, with a team-high three tries, 241 metres gained and 54 carries, after switching from the Queensland Reds.

Smith capped her year by playing for the Wallaroos at the 2025 Women’s Rugby World Cup in England, including earning Player of the Match honours in the win over Samoa. The tournament marked Smith’s second career World Cup.

The 28-cap Wallaroo previously won the Super W Player of the Year in 2023 during her time with the Reds.

Smith’s impact last season with the Force wasn’t only on field, but also off-field, making a significant cultural contribution.

Force head coach Dylan Parsons said: “Cee is one we definitely wanted to bring back. She’s Wallaroos class, she’s an experienced player but also a great person who adds into our culture and Maali Way.

“She had a huge year in 2025 and looked to really enjoy her rugby again which was great to see. We believe we saw the best of Cee because of how much she was enjoying the environment.

“For us it was a no-brainer to re-contract someone of Cee’s quality. We’re looking forward to seeing her back in blue after her Wallaroos commitments.”

Smith will link up with the Force during pre-season which commenced this week. The 2026 Super W season is due to commence in June.

The Force has already confirmed a dozen squad members for the 2026 campaign with Smith the latest addition.
