The Western Force are thrilled to announce the elevation of Fortescue Academy graduate and 2025 Rising Star winner Albert Alcock to the Club’s Super Rugby Pacific squad for next season.

The emerging hooker has enjoyed an excellent rise over the past 12 months, including touring with the Force in South Africa last September and October.

He went on to train with the Force’s Super Rugby squad throughout pre-season, with the 21-year-old making his Super Rugby debut away to the Blues in Round 12.

He also toured in 2023 with the Force to South Africa for the Toyota Challenge against the Cheetahs.

Alcock’s rise was recognised when he was awarded the Club’s Rising Star at the 2025 Season Awards in May.

Force head coach Simon Cron was delighted to reward the youngster for his development, attitude and potential with a Super Rugby contract.

Cron said: “Bertie is our Rising star winner and he’s come through our Academy program, so it’s great to see him join our Super Rugby squad.

“He has got a great ball carry. He’s an explosive hooker. He’s constantly working on his craft.”

Alcock adds to the Force’s hooker options, alongside Wallaby Brandon Paenga-Amosa and Nic Dolly.

Cron added: “A big part of our squad make-up is making sure we have players at different age categories so the future of the Force is strong.

“At hooker, you’ve got BPA, Nic Dolly and Bertie there. They’ll all complement each other.

“I think he’ll learn a lot from Nic and BPA over the off-season and pre-season and he’ll come in next season firing.”

Alcock, who moved across from Sydney to join the Fortescue Academy in mid-2023, said he was delighted to extend his stay with the Force.

“I’ve really enjoyed being at the Force since moving over in 2023, so I’m thrilled to re-sign,” Alcock said.

“We’ve got a really good playing group who are tight knit with a great culture. I can really feel something building at the Force.

“Personally, I’ve been able to develop as a player here, expanding my game and enhancing my strengths. It’ll be great to continue to learn off international hookers like BPA and Nic to help my development too.

“It was great to get a taste of Super Rugby last year and I’d like to play more in 2026, so I’ll put my best foot forward in pre-season to do that.”
