The Queensland Reds silenced Lautoka with a dominant 21-6 win over the Fijian Drua.

It's their first win in Fiji over the Drua, continuing their red-hot form after their round two bye.

So what did we learn?

1. Breaking Fijian duck

The Queensland Reds have cemented themselves as one of the form teams in Super Rugby with the maximum point win in Fiji.

Winning in Lautoka in itself is a massive effort, but keeping the Drua to six points at home is unheard of.

Their defence stood up and delivered, even with a host of stars staying in Brisbane.

They are firmly in contention for the title in 2026, setting up a blockbuster with the Hurricanes next weekend.

2. Homecoming

It was a homecoming for Fijian flyer Filipo Daugunu and he gave the Lautoka fans a show.

Daugunu was clearly fired up from the opening whistle, delivering a thumping tackle that just slipped up, setting the scene for what would come.

The winger was unstoppable, breaking defenders constantly while his pressure created the mistake for the opener.

It was the winger at his brilliant best, continuing to make his Wallabies case sound and clear.

3. Drua’s season starts now

The Drua need to start banking wins away from home as their stranglehold over home-field advantage wavered again.

They have often been able to rely on consistent success in Lautoka but have had few answers for the Reds' defence.

Their handling seriously let them down, coughing up the ball at crucial moments.

They now head on the road for four of the next five wins, needing to shake their poor away form if they are to make finals.

4. Depth stands up

It’s always a risk to rest a host of star players but the Reds got some great returns from their replacements.

John Bryant was a tackling machine and topped the count with 20. He also had two big turnovers to start the second half.

Harry McLaughlin-Phillips was tidy around the park, scoring a crucial try in the second half. He also had a perfect 50-22 before half-time to sum up a solid kicking afternoon.

5. Signs of teenage talent

It’s only early into his career but 18-year-old Treyvon Pritchard is showing he’s up to Super Rugby standard.

He came off the bench in just his third game and produced a dazzling break to get the Reds in prime field position, following this up by narrowly missing scoring after showing his smarts to release and go again.

Having just been named in the Australia U20s, Pritchard’s progression is exciting to watch.
