The Wallabies were unable to overcome a classy England side as they took the 25-7 win at Twickenham.

The Aussies were in the contest heading into the break before England pressed clear to secure the win.

So what did we learn?

1. Aerial raid

The Wallabies’ struggles with the high ball continued as England burnt them at the key moments.

George Ford played a perfect role as he had the ball on the string, with Tom Roebuck collecting the bomb to set up Ben Earl for the opener.

He repeated the effort to put Henry Pollock over despite Andrew Kellaway’s desperate ankle tap to seal the win.

It’s an issue that’s starting to plague the Aussies, following their struggles during the Rugby Championship.

2. Potter steps up

Harry Potter’s selection came under plenty of scrutiny from fans but the winger justified his selection with a sensational five minute period.

The winger fought well above his weight to stop a certain Ben Earl try before snatching an intercept on his line to score the Wallabies only try of the game.

Potter never stopped trying for the Aussies on a tough day, cementing his spot as a key member of the back three.

3. McReight wins battle of the breakdown

Fraser McReight was excellent for the Wallabies as the flanker dominated the breakdown.

England were pointed with their criticism heading into the game but they had little complaints as McReight was sensational over the ball.

In total, the Reds flanker had five turnovers as he stopped England from running away with the game.

It’s a timely reminder of just how good McReight is after Carlo Tizzano applied the pressure following a strong showing against Jaoan.

4. Bench deliver for England

England coach Steve Borthwick used his bench perfectly to run away with the win.

The English seemed to be comfortable holding onto a three-point lead before their replacements blew the game out of the water at the 50-minute mark.

Henry Pollock was strong as he pounced on a loose ball to score the try that broke the Australians.

But it was the rolling maul try that was the most impressive, with the replacement forwards marching 30 metres to cross the line.

5. All eyes on Italy

The Wallabies will be relishing the return of their overseas contingent as they prepare for Italy.

The likes of Len Ikitau, Tom Hooper and James O’Connor were missed as the visitors proved too strong.

Italy looms as the perfect bounce back game as they hunt for a spot in the top six of the World Rugby Rankings
