Rugby Australia and the Western Force are pleased to announce that Wallabies winger Dylan Pietsch has signed a two-year contract extension, securing his future in Australian Rugby until the end of 2028.

Tickets to the Wallabies 2026 home Tests are available to purchase here.

The 28-year-old Wiradjuri man, who joined the Force in 2025, has become a cornerstone of the club’s backline and a regular in the national group.

Born in Narrandera in NSW’s central Riverina region, Pietsch began his Rugby journey as a Leeton Phantoms junior before moving to Sydney to be educated at The King’s School.

It was there his Rugby flourished, selected in the 2016 Australian Schools Barbarians squad - alongside fellow future Wallabies Nick Frost, Tate McDermott, Jordan Petaia, Matt Faessler and Harry Wilson.

Initially a back rower, Pietsch discovered his love for space and pace when he linked up with the Australia Sevens program out of school, debuting at aged 19 during the 2016/17 season.

Pietsch was selected in the Australian Sevens team for the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games, and upon his return was signed by the NSW Waratahs – making his Super Rugby Pacific debut in 2022.

A year later, the physical outside back was named in his first Wallabies squad but he would need to wait until 2024 to make his Test debut – becoming the 15th known Indigenous Wallaby and Wallaby number 978 when he took to the field against Wales in Sydney.

Later that year, Pietsch made the move to Perth, joining the Western Force on a two-year contract where he made an immediate impression in their 2025 campaign.

Not just a talent on the field, the 28-year-old combined his love of indigenous art and rugby when he was commissioned to help design the Wallabies jersey for the 2025 British & Irish Lions Series, as well as the Force and Waratahs strips for their matches.

This extension ensures Pietsch joins a long list of key Wallabies who have re-committed to Australian Rugby for major upcoming milestones, including the 2027 Rugby World Cup on home soil.

Wallaby number 978, the 15th Indigenous Wallaby and Western Force winger, Dylan Pietsch said: "I’m incredibly stoked to be staying with the Force and Australian Rugby for another two years.

“Perth is home for my wife Ella and I, so it’s hard to imagine being anywhere else. I have so much belief in the direction of this club and where we are heading. Force and the fans have given me so much and I hope I can return the favour.

“Being in the position to represent my family, culture and country is something I take a lot of pride in, and it drives me to work as hard as I can to hopefully wear the gold jersey.”

Rugby Australia’s Director of High Performance, Peter Horne said: "Dylan is a fantastic ambassador for our game and another example of the wider Australian rugby pathways producing Wallabies.

"His physicality for a winger is a point of difference and we look forward to watching him continue to work hard with the Western Force and grow his game."

Western Force head coach Simon Cron said: “We’re really happy to have Pietschy re-commit to the Club. We know he loves it at the Force.

“He’s constantly engaged with our group. He’s had a bit of a tough run of it with injury, so it’s great having him back on the park.

“As a player, he adds power and speed. He’s built a great combination with the guys we have on the wings, like Darby Lancaster and Zac Lomax.

“Pietschy is really close to a lot of boys in the squad too, so it’s important we keep as many of the guys here as possible for cohesion.

“He’s a great man. Him and his wife Ella love being here too. It’s important we keep driving him forward to give him his best opportunity at Wallabies level too.”
