The Brumbies hosted the Hurricanes in the final match of round 11.

Brumbies coach Dan McKellar is calling for a complete performance from his side as they prepare for a title litmus test in the coming weeks.

The ACT-based side finds themselves one point from top spot after strong wins over the Highlanders and Hurricanes.

However, they face the tough task of taking on the rest of the top four in the next three weeks, starting with the Chiefs in Waikato.

"We're in a good position but it's all about fronting up on Saturday evening. We know this is our biggest challenge to date," McKellar told reporters.

"The Chiefs at home is always a tough ask. Traditionally we play well there, we certainly didn't last year but we're ready to go

With this in mind, McKellar was looking for his side to produce an 80-minute performance, backing his finishers to once again shine as they prepare for an onslaught in the last quarter.

"I know for a fact that the New Zealand teams like to think that they can run over the Australian teams in the last 20 minutes and that'll be the plan with the opposition again this week," he believes.

"So how our finishers come on and make a positive impact, at the same time bring control and discipline...is incredibly important.

"We know if we dominate that last 20-25 minutes, then we give ourselves a good chance of winning.

They receive a timely boost with Allan Alaalatoa and Nick Frost returning via the bench, joined by the impressive Scott Sio as James Slipper returns to the starting side.

"(Allan's) certainly not the greatest spectator, he likes to be out there. He's done a good job running the water but his primary role is to be dominant at set piece and produce a whole lot of physicality, and he's keen to do that," McKellar said with a smile.

"You always feel like you're missing out when you are not out there but the boys have performed well. It's a credit to the depth we've got in the squad, Rossy(Tom Ross) and Sefo (Kautai) have done a great job but it's good for Al to freshen up and be ready to go for the back end."

"(Frost) has had a bit of a sore knee which we could have pushed through but it's best to look after him and make sure he isn't on one leg for the rest of the season."
