Strike outside back Triston Reilly signs on with the ACT Brumbies until 2028.

The ACT Brumbies have secured a major signing coup, luring strike outside back Triston Reilly from cross-border rivals the NSW Waratahs on a two-year-deal ahead of the 2027 Super Rugby Pacific season.

The 27-year-old arrives in Canberra after a standout 2026 campaign in sky blue, featuring in nearly every match and further strengthening his reputation as one of Super Rugby Pacific's most dangerous attacking threats.

Standing 182cm and weighing 95kg, Reilly is a powerful winger/outside centre renowned for his direct running, balance through contact and genuine pace. A consistent line-break threat, he regularly challenges defensive lines, while his aerial ability makes him both a dependable option and a genuine weapon under the high ball.

Reilly said the move to Canberra represented an exciting new chapter in his career.

"I'm really excited to be joining the Brumbies and moving to Canberra. It's a club with a strong culture, clear identity and a style of rugby that suits my game. I'm looking forward to contributing and pushing myself in a new environment," Reilly said.

“The Brumbies have always been a club built on connection, competitiveness and earning your spot, and I’m excited to be part of that environment.”

Since making his Super Rugby debut, Reilly has amassed 40 appearances and scored 10 tries, establishing himself as one of the competition’s most damaging outside backs.

A graduate of St Joseph's College and a Randwick product, Reilly first rose to prominence through sevens. He scored five tries as Australia claimed bronze at the 2017 World Youth All Schools Tournament before making his Australian Sevens debut the following year.

His representative honours also include selection for the Australian Under-20s, where he helped the side reach the World Rugby U20 Championship Final alongside current Brumbies teammates Lachlan Lonergan, Darcy Breen, Rhys van Nek, Nick Frost, and Kye Oates.

Reilly’s rugby journey has also taken him beyond union, with the outside back making three NRL appearances for the Wests Tigers in 2023 before returning to Super Rugby with the Waratahs in 2024.

Proud of his Dunghutti and Wiradjuri heritage, Reilly maintains a strong connection to his Indigenous culture. Away from the field, he is an ambassador for Bandu, a First Nations-led charity committed to opening doors for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students through education and employment. Brumbies Head Coach Stephen Larkham said Reilly's arrival was a significant addition to the club's backline.

"We're really pleased to bring Triston into our program. He's a proven Super Rugby performer with the ability to change a game in an instant,” Larkham said.

“His physicality, pace and aerial skill set give us real flexibility and weaponry across the backline, and we believe he'll thrive in our environment."

Reilly will join the ACT Brumbies ahead of the 2026 Super Rugby AUS season, before preparing for the 2027 Super Rugby Pacific season.
