The Black Ferns have powered their way to the Singapore title with a 36-7 win over Australia in the Final.

Tim Walsh's side came into the Final in top form after a crushing win over Canada in the semi-final.

It followed a perfect opening day to start the tournament to top their pool, with debutant Maya Stewart the star after her three tries on debut.

However, what they ran into was a buzz-saw-like performance from New Zealand, who were on top of the Aussies from the opening whistle. Australia received the kick-off, and Sariah Paki was held up as she took the opening carry, leading to the turnover.

Jasmin Felix-Hotham scored shortly afterwards to start an onslaught of points for the Kiwis.

Felix-Hotham finished with a double, joined by Player of the Match Jorja Miller with another world-class showing.

Miller scored shortly after Felix-Hotham's opener, bursting through the tackles of co-captains Bella Nasser and Madison Ashby after Australia failed to control the restart.

Australia couldn't get its attack flowing, and a fortuitous deflection from Teagan Levi's pass summed up the misfortunes, flipping the field and setting up Miller's second.

Mahina Paul extended their lead to 24-0 at the break, before Felix-Hotham secured the win and their third straight title in Singapore.

Bienne Terita gave the Aussies something to celebrate, only for Katelyn Vahaakolo to cap off the victory on the siren.

For the Aussie Men, it was a strong second day that will give them confidence heading into next week's home event in Perth, finishing fifth.

This included wins over Great Britain and Spain after they had fallen to France and New Zealand, ending day one.

Henry Hutchison celebrated breaking Nick Malouf's record for most appearances (62) with the winner against GB after the siren for a 26-19 victory.

The skipper backed this up with a crucial five-pointer to take down a gallant Spain, who opened the scoring after 15 seconds, only for Australia to rally for the win.
