Wallabies outside back Kurtley Beale will play in his first game since returning to Australia, named for the Waratahs against an ACT Brumbies XV in Saturday's practice match at St. Edmund's College in Canberra.

The 33-year-old is continuing his recovery from a hamstring injury suffered with Racing 92, named in the Wallabies squad for the Bledisloe Cup.

Beale has been selected at fullback as Darren Coleman selects a team largely made up of wider squad members and Shute Shield talent.

This includes Easts halves duo Teddy Wilson and Jack Bowen, with Wilson recently named as part of the Australia A program.

New recruit Tom Lambert starts at loosehead prop, joined by Gordon hooker Tomas Maka and Dan Botha.

Former Brumbies Academy member Zane Marolt comes into the second row, whilst Sevens star Michael Icely slots into number eight.

Fellow Sevens teammate and Junior Wallaby Ben Dowling along with schoolboy sensation Max Jorgensen have been included on the bench alongside returning scrum half Harrison Goddard and Tiaan Taukipulu

As for the Brumbies, coach Stephen Larkham has selected a side stacked with Super Rugby experience for the practice match.

Australia A quartet Billy Pollard, Ryan Lonergan, Rory Scott and Hudson Creighton headline the squad as they look to re-start Larkham’s tenure on a high note.

Pollard partners newly promoted full-time member Harry Vella and Tom Ross in the front row, with Cameron Holt and Jack Wright completing the tight five.

Scott is joined by Jahrome Brown and Charlie Cale in the back-row, with Lonergan linking up with new recruit Ben O’Donnell.

Sevens star Corey Toole and Declan Meredith round out the back three, with Creighton and Chris Feauai-Sautia named in the centres.

Former Brumbies Rod Iona, who is heading to the MLR with NOLA Gold, Robbie Coleman and John Ulugia headline a bench stacked with development talent from the John I Dent Cup and Shute Shield.
