If history tells us anything, expect a British & Irish Lions Test in Brisbane to be anything but boring.
Saturday’s opener at Suncorp Stadium is set to be a massive event, capturing the entire Rugby world’s attention as the Wallabies battle the Lions.

Both teams can claim Brisbane and Suncorp as happy hunting grounds, with each side able to point to imposing records at the ground.
For the Lions, they have never lost in the city, stretching back to the inaugural tour in 1899.
However, the Wallabies have made Suncorp Stadium their own since 2013, winning 12 of their last 17 games there, including a ten-game record streak.

Alex Cuthbert and the boot of Leigh Halfpenny gave the Lions the lead before Beale put Australia within two with 12 minutes remaining.
Beale had two tough opportunities in the final five minutes to give the Wallabies the lead, with the first fading right before the second saw the playmaker’s foot slide out from underneath him as the Lions held on in a thriller.
The scene that awaited both teams at the Gabba caught everyone by surprise as the magnitude of the travelling Lions fans was felt.
The famous cricket ground was used to host the Test because Suncorp Stadium was under reconstruction. However, it may as well have been Old Trafford, such was the prevalence of red jerseys in the crowd.
The ground was filled with touring Lions as the Wallabies were forced to come to terms with an away game on home soil.
This spurred the visitors on as Irish centre Brian O’Driscoll had a blinder, scoring a double as the Lions ran away with the 29-13 win.
From here, Australian Rugby officials scrambled to ensure there was plenty of gold in the final two Tests, with the Wallabies pulling off the series win.

The world champions Wallabies came into the game with a 1-0 series lead after a 30-12 victory in Sydney, with a scuffle between scrumhalves Rob Jones and Nick Farr-Jones at the opening scrum setting the tempo for what would go.
Both sides were engaged in all out war, with Dai Young very lucky to stay on the field after aiming a kick at Steve Cutler’s head at the ruck.
The Wallabies were left battered with several players requiring stitches after the game as the Lions came away with the 19-12 victory.
It would power the Lions to a maiden series win over the Wallabies, claiming as they backed this up with a one-point win in Sydney a week later.
