Australia U16s coach Tim Rapp has named a 24-player squad to face the Queensland Reds on Thursday (11:00 am AEST/12:00 pm AEDT) at Wests Rugby Club.

NSW Waratahs fullback Finn Hannon will captain the side, one of seven Waratahs in the starting side after they took out the Super Rugby U16s title.

Hannon is deputised by Western Force second-rower Bareek Kleine-Deters Ausage, who returns from last year's win over the NSW Waratahs U17s.

Kleine-Deters Ausage is the lone non-Queenslander in the tight five, with a host of home-grown talent getting their chance to shine in Brisbane.

Brisbane Boys College props Jeremiah Kite and Moses Faleafa start alongside Noah Gaffney, with Denver Bradford the other lock.

Flanker Henry Willis joins Waratahs duo Cordell Arama and Hunter Hall in the back row.

As for the backs, it is dominated by the Waratahs, with skipper Hannon, along with wingers Julian Minto and Asher Chapman, completing an all-NSW back three.

It'll start a busy fortnight for Minto, who was recently named in the Australia U18s team for Global Youth Sevens in Auckland next week.

Waratahs teammate Izak Holmes starts in the halves with Force playmaker Kaiawha Heke, with Payton Tarau and James Smith completing the midfield.

On the bench, title-winning skipper Wilson Ruthven headlines a hungry group of finishers.

Victoria back-rower Hamish Ward and Brumbies prop Geoffrey Olivetti are among the forward replacements.

Waratahs star centre Charlie Xuerub is the lone player omitted from the squad named last month, ruled out due to injury.
