The Australian Sevens teams return to action in Valladolid, making a major push for the World Championship with a pair of titles.

The Women's team started the gold rush after a 27-14 win over the USA in the Final claiming their first title of the year.

Former co-captain Demi Hayes returns to the squad, with the Aussies leaping to top of the World Championship ladder with a round to go.

The Men backed it up with victory over South Africa after a hard-fought win over Fiji in the semis.

Liam Barry's side went undefeated across the three days, beating their Final opposition to top their pool.

Australia Men 26 v South Africa Men 19 - FINAL

Australia has done the double after a 26-19 win over South Africa in the Final.

The came back from a 14-0 deficit to secure the victory, levelling the scores at half-time before hitting the front in the second half.

They were forced to endure a nervous wait after James Turner's red card, holding on in the final seconds after a denied South Africa try that would've sent the game into extra time.

Australia Women 27 v USA Women 14 - FINAL

Australia have claimed the title with a 27-14 win over the USA in the final.

Heidi Dennis was named Player of the Final as the 21-year-old scored a double and saved several more in a gutsy defensive performance.

Faith Nathan also got a pair while the work of co-captains Bella Nasser and Faith Nathan was vital in the victory.

Australia Men 21 v Fiji Men 14 - SEMI FINAL

Australia have taken down Fiji 21-14 to continue their unbeaten run in Spain, surging into the final

Henry Hutchison scored twice as the Aussies opened the scoring through James Turner.

Turner then set up Hutchison, with the skipper breaking the 14-all deadlock late in the game.

Australia Women 28 v New Zealand Women 26 - SEMI FINAL

Australia have rallied for a comeback 28-26 win over arch rivals New Zealand to advance to the Final.

Kaitlin Shave was the hero, scoring the match-winner in the final minute after the Aussies trailed for the entirety of the match.

Tia Hinds started the comeback after they went down 14-0, with tries to Heidi Dennis and Faith Nathan keeping them in the fight.

Australia Men 21 v Kenya Men 0 - QUARTER FINAL

Australia have swept their way into the semis with a 21-0 win over Kenya.

Maurice Longbottom set the tempo with the opener in the first minute, one of two he’d score.

Ben Dowling would cross for another as they made it back-to-back wins over Kenya in Spain.

Saturday, May 30
Australia Women 21 v France Women 5 - QUARTER FINAL

Australia have rebounded nicely to win 21-5 over France in the quarter-finals.

Faith Nathan did the damage with a double for their 16th straight quarter-final victory, booking their place in the final four.

Nathan scored the lone try of the first half, with Heidi Dennis also crossing for a crucial win.

Australia Men 24 v South Africa Men 14

Australia have powered their way into the quarter-finals with a 24-14 win over South Africa.

Tries to Harry Wilson and Henry Hutchison gave them the half-time lead after the Blitzboks opened the scoring.

When South Africa scored to start the second half, Ben Dowling restored the Australians' lead, with Josh Turner sealing the victory a minute before full-time.

Australia Women 10 v USA Women 14

The USA have upset Australia 14-10 to start day two in Valladolid.

Tries to Kaylen Thomas and Sariah Ibarra got the Americans home as Maddison and Teagan Levi crossed for the Aussies.

The kicking proved the difference, while the bigger concern for the Australians will be the sight of Maddison Levi limping off early in the second half after a heavy collision.

Australia Men 26 v Great Britain Men 19

Australia have completed a perfect first day in Spain with a 26-19 win over Great Britain.

Henry Hutchison and James Turner both crossed for doubles, with Hutchison scoring his brace in the first half to leave them level with GB 14-all at the break.

Turner then broke the deadlock with two five-pointers to hold off the Brits and all but lock their spot in the quarter-finals.

Australia Women 45 v Fiji Women 5

Australia have finished their opening day with a 45-5 win over Fiji as the Levi show took over.

The sisters combined for five tries, with Maddison completing her hat-trick to go past 60 tries on the World Series this year.

Sister Teagan was also dominant, finishing with a double in a near-perfect display.

Australia Men 15 v Kenya Men 10

Australia have dug deep for a 15-10 extra-time win over Kenya.

Henry Hutchison and Dietrich Roache both scored but their tries were answered instantly by the Kenyans.

The Aussies rallied into extra-time after a remarkable try-saving tackle from Wallace Charlie, before they were unable to break the deadlock.

Roache then produced the winner, sprinting down the sideline for the winner.

Australia Women 26 v South Africa Women 12

Australia have started their campaign with a 26-12 win over South Africa.

Maddison Levi added to her tally and lead on top of the try-scoring table with a first half hat-trick.

The pick of the bunch came on half-time after getting the pilfer and fending two more off for a 26-7 lead.

It allowed the Aussies to cruise to victory in the second half despite handling errors and strong South African counterattacking.
