With the international season done and dusted, plenty of Aussies were back in action across the English Premiership, the URC and both divisions of French rugby.
With all competitions except for France D2 heading into a fortnight hiatus for European competitions, the weekend also saw the last chance for several players to impress.

Starting off in Llanelli, Max Douglas and Archer Holz starred in the set piece for hosts Scarlets as they ran out 23-0 winners over Sam Talakai’s Glasgow, with Douglas dominating the lineout.
It was the sole voctiry on the Aussie front in the tournament, as Ryan Smith and Jack Walsh started in Ospreys’ loss to Edinburgh, the Scottish side winning 19-17.
Walsh had a strong day in general play, making 12 carries, 15 tackles and beating two defenders, but missed two conversions that ultimately cost the Welsh side the match.
Lastly, the future home of Wallaby prop Angus Bell Ulster ran out 47-13 winners over Benneton, with Reds’ loan players John Bryant and Louis Werchon making cameos off the bench.
Moving across to English rugby, Josh Kemeny put in a strong individual performance at the set piece in a losing side, as Bristol blew the Northampton Saints away 46-12.
Things would fare far better for Wallaby veteran James O’Connor, who came off the bench as Leicester Tigers scored three tries in the final 25 minutes to defeat Newcastle, 39-17.
The overseas Wallabies were right in the thick of the action in Sale, at the Exeter Chiefs won in a thriller over the Sharks, 27-26.
Len Ikitau combined brilliantly with England centre Henry Slade, while Tom Hooper also had a solid day, making 12 carries and 11 tackles despite also receiving a yellow card in the 11th minute.
However, an Aussie would be right in the centre of the action, with former Wallaby and newly-capped Samoan Scott Sio coming off the bench to score the final try in the 70th minute to give Exeter the match-winning lead.
Across the channel, Tom Banks made 12 carries in the starting side as Montpellier went on to win 28-24 over Adam Coleman’s Bordeaux, while Joe Powell also had a tough afternoon, his side Montauban going down 54-28 to Toulon.
It was a similarly difficult day for former Reds teammates Duncan Paia’aua and Jordan Petaia, featuring for Perpignan in their 23-7 loss to Castres.
Rob Leota continued his strong start for Bayonne in their 22-20 win over Lyon. Despite not getting over the chalk this week, Leota topped the tackle count for the home side as they held off a fast finish from the visitors, with Jermaine Ainsley starting and Monty Ioane scoring a try in the 6th minute.
Toulouse kept their position at the top of the competition with a 48-24 win over Taniela Tupou’s future home Racing 92, with ex-NRL star Joey Manu featuring off the bench.
Clermont overcame Stade Francais Paris 36-32 at home, with Wallaby veteran Rob Simmons putting in a 60-minute effort for the visitors, while Alex Newsome put in a big shift off the bench and Irae Simone also provided input off the bench.
Lastly, Pau heaped more misery on La Rochelle in their 53-33 victory, a wild fixture that saw a red card to the visitors inside the first minute.
Jack Maddocks and Reece Hewat starred for the hosts in the starting lineup, while Tolu Latu put in a 47-minute effort for the visitors, and Kane Douglas provided impact off the bench.
Finally, former Wallaby turned Namibian international Richard Hardwick starred for Grenoble, scoring a try in their 33-25 victory over Biarritz, as did Zach Holmes, who kick two penalty goals and two conversions in Oyonnax’s 35-24 victory over Béziers.
Jake Strachan and Ben O’Donnell were right in the action as Aurillac defeated Soyaux-Angoulême 20-15 away from home, a 77th-minute try proving enough to defeat a side containing Wallabies Richie Arnold and Pone Fa’amausili.
Ryan McCauley also featured in the starting side for Valence Romans as they defeated Nevers 13-3 at home, with former Melbourne Rebel and Sunwolves star Efi Ma’afu featuring for the visitors.
Lastly, it was an afternoon to forget for two-capped Wallaby Caleb Timu, the former Reds star, receiving a yellow card in the 53rd minute as his side Colomiers went down 27-18 to Brive, with three more of his team mates also being shown the cheese.
