Even with the Test season underway, there were still a handful of Australians in action across the world.

While the English Premiership and the URC are on hiatus for the time being, Australia's Top 14 contingency were in the thick of it across the weekend, headlined by former skipper Will Skelton.

Top 14

Former Wallabies skipper Will Skelton has made a timely return for La Rochelle as they defeated Racing 92 33-6.

Skelton turned out a 60-minute performance, as the second-rower was third for carries (nine) in the dominant win.

It was the towering lock’s first start of the season and his first game back since the middle of September.

Tolu Latu also came off the bench, nailing all eight lineouts in the crucial win.

In further games, fullback Jack Maddocks dived over for a try as Pau’s stellar start to the season continued.

Maddocks scored the opening try in the 17th minute to help them to a 27-23 win over Perpignan, who were without Jordan Petaia.

Rob Leota had a solid hand in a thumping win for Bayonne as they took down Montauban 49-7.

Leota played the full 80 minutes, helping the team to fourth on the ladder after missing last week’s defeat.

Meanwhile, Jordan Uelese was unable to get Monpellier over the line in a 9-7 defeat to Clermont despite a try-saving tackle.
