Fullback Tom Banks’ magic run in France continues, scoring in Montpellier’s 44-14 win over Toulouse, with hooker Jordan Uelese also crossing the chalk.

Banks sits in the top ten for metres (162), defenders beaten (10) and tries (two), finishing the game with four tackle busts.

The ex-Brumby recently joined the Montpellier from Japan Rugby League One side Honda Heat, where he scored eight tries last season.

Alex Newsome came off the bench and scored in Clermont’s big 50-27 win over Pau, before coming off early.

Meanwhile, Will Skelton and La Rochelle’s match against Toulon was called off due to heavy rain.

In division two, former Wallaby Pone Fa’amausili made his debut for Soyaux-Angoulême, spoilt by a 31-0 defeat to Valence.

As for England, James Ramm scored a double as Northampton took care of Saracens 49-34 in the Premiership Rugby Cup.

Ramm scored both tries in the second half, with backrower Angus Scott-Young also starting in the win.

Former Waratahs lock Hugh Bokenham made his Gloucester debut, starting in the defeat against Bristol.

In New Zealand, Reesjan Pasitoa had a big game in Northland’s tense 22-21 win over North Harbour.

The former Australia U20 playmaker had four tackle busts and a line break in the victory.

Lachlan Hooper also came off the bench, his seventh appearance of the competition.

Bond University premiership prop Rhys Sherriff is another making his mark across the Tasman after earning his NPC debut for Manawatu.
