Australian Men’s captain Henry Hutchison, try-scoring machine Maddison Levi and young gun Harry Wilson are among this year’s nominees for World Rugby’s HSBC SVNS Awards.

Hutchison has been shortlisted for Men’s SVNS player of the year alongside South Africa’s Tristan Leyds and Fijian Vuiviwa Naduvalo following Australia’s best results in a season since 2022.

The three-time Olympian has played a dominant role as skipper, more recently earning player of the final honours as Australia broke a four-year drought with their first title in Valladolid last weekend.

Hutchison became the most-capped Australian Sevens player in Men’s history during the Singapore event in January and now leads going into his 67th event this weekend.

Levi will battle it out with New Zealand’s Jorja Miller and American Ariana Ramsey for Women’s SVNS player of the year.

It is the fifth-straight season Levi has received a nomination in this category, with the 24-year-old claiming the award in 2024.

Levi currently leads the competition for most tries scored this season (62) with one World Championship round in Bordeaux to play. The all-time record of 69 was set by Levi in 2024.

Wilson, in his first season with the Aussie Sevens squad, has been nominated for rookie of the year alongside Kele Lasaqa (New Zealand) and Finley Lloyd-Gilmour of Great Britain.

Wilson has featured in every tournament since making his debut in Dubai last November.

The brother of Teddy Wilson, he became the third member of the family to represent Australia, with dad David skippering the Wallabies on several occasions throughout his 79-Test caps, which included a successful World Cup campaign.

Rugby Australia Director of High Performance Peter Horne said: “I’d like to congratulate Henry, Maddison and Harry on their nominations and wish them all the best in Bordeaux this weekend.

“Our Australia Sevens teams achieved a remarkable feat in Valladolid with every player and staff member contributing to the results.

“To have three players nominated on the global stage is an incredible achievement and recognition for our programs.”

The winners will be crowned following the HSBC SVNS World Championship Final in Bordeaux on Sunday 7 June.

In addition to the four voted awards, a number of special honours will also be presented, including the Women's SVNS Top Try Scorer and Men's SVNS Top Try Scorer.

The Women's SVNS Dream Team of the Year and Men's SVNS Dream Team of the Year will also be unveiled, recognising the players who have consistently delivered world-class performances throughout the season.
