The Australian Men's Sevens will kick off in Fiji this weekend as they look to continue to build on their impressive start to the 2021-22 season.

Five new faces will feature in the non-capped team for the tournament headlined by former Melbourne Rebels player Michael Icely. Fellow Eastwood teammate Matt Gonzalez will join Icely while Tim Clements (Sydney Uni), Chris Watkins (Coffs Harbour) and Max Burey (Northern Suburbs) make up the remaining new additions to the side.

They will be bolstered by the experience of Henry Hutchison and Josh Turner, while recent signing Corey Toole will join his fellow Canberra tourist Jed Stuart in the match day side. Solomone Vosaicake, Henry Paterson, Dietrich Roache, Darby Lancaster and Stu Dunbar round out the remaining.

The Australian Sevens will face two Fijian teams in the Warriors and Barbarians before taking on the New Zealand Men's Sevens as they look to make their return to international competition.
