Two professional Fijian players have been arrested for contravening quarantine protocols after returning to Fiji.
The pair, who have not been publicly identified, were arrested for violating their self-isolation requirements after arrving in Fiji from overseas.
Currently, anyone who travels to Fiji from overseas must be immediately placed in self-quarantine for a fortnight.
Fiji Rugby CEO John O'Connor released a statement on Sunday publicly condemning the pair and warning that the organisation will elevate the issue to the players' professional clubs an World Rugby.
“We strongly condemn the behavior of these two players and their disregard for lawful instructions to self-isolate themselves," he said.
"The Fiji Rugby family wants to put on record our great disappointment at the irresponsible behavior of these two players putting their families and other Fijians at risk.
"Such irresponsible behavior is totally unacceptable, and we support the actions of the Police in arresting these two players and any further action taken against them.
"Fiji Rugby will take appropriate disciplinary actions against the professional rugby players including reporting this highly irresponsible behaviour to their clubs and World Rugby,”
Aussies go blonde in isolation
Australia's rugby players must really be missing the opportunity to soak up the sun at the beach, if an emerging hair trend is anything to go by.
Waratahs duo Jake Gordon and Kurtley Beale are now sporting new bleached blonde cuts.
Gordon was the first to take the plunge, while Beale posted to his Instagram story over the weekend showing a glimpse of his fresh cut.
Isolation life is clearly beginning to get to us all.
Barrett's isolation fun
The suspension of Super Rugby has pushed back Beauden Barrett's Blues debut and his top flight rugby return.
Barrett's lack of rugby in recent months clearly hasn't affected his touch, though, if this instagram video is anything to go by.
It might have taken him a few attempts but the All Blacks flyhalf eventually nailed this ridiculous shot from his balcony into a basketball hoop below.
Sydney clubs keep rugby tradition alive
The Shute Shield season might be halted until at least June but local clubs are still finding ways to fit in some of the most treasured rugby traditions.
Sydney's Easts and Norths were scheduled to face off in Sydney's premier grade competition this weekend but that obviously didn't not happen.
But rather than let a Saturday afternoon slip by, players from both sides linked up on a Zoom call to have a virtual boat race.
Good to see some traditions never die.
Kolisi promises coronavirus donations
Springboks captain Siya Kolisi has made a major pledge to help combat the coronavirus spread in South Africa.
Kolisi is working on the establishment of a charitable foundation, set to launch later this year, but the spread of the disease meant the captain felt the need to try and make an impact.
The Kolisi Foundation has pivoted its focus for now to helping provide supplies like hand sanitiser and face masks to frontline workers in Cape Town.
Some of their contributions have already been delivered, with the help of the Afribiz Ent Foundation, including the supply of 1000L of hand sanitiser and 1000 reusable masks to Cape Town's Khayelitsha Hospital, and 2000L of sanitiser to Port Elizabeth's Livingstone Tertiary Hospital.
