Ainsley Scrivener will have her first Super W start for the Brumbies against the Reds this Sunday afternoon.

Scrivener, daughter of former Wallabies assistant and Vikings coach Nick, has impressed in her stints off the bench this season, earning her promotion.

The outside centre will team up in a new-look midfield with usual fullback Sammie Wood against the in-form Reds side.

Rebeccy Smyth returns from injury to line up in the backrow with Emma Masi switching to blindside flanker and Zali Waihape-Andrews at no. 8.

Brumbies coach Adam Butt said they were keen for a slice of redemption after a disappointing defeat to the Waratahs a fortnight ago.

"The side can't wait to get back out at GIO Stadium on Sunday afternoon, we were hurting after our last performance but have had the bye week to work on a few things and are looking to put our improvements out on the field this weekend," he said.

"This is our chance to cement a spot in the finals and build some real confidence and combinations heading into the business end of the season."

"Ainsley has been really effective for us as a finisher so far this season and has earned her starting spot in the side and we can't wait to see her perform well on Sunday."

The Brumbies take on the Reds at GIO Stadium on Sunday March 16, kicking off at 1;15pm AEDT, LIVE on RUGBY.com.au, Foxtel and Kayo Sports.
