'People relate to my Dad bod': Locky McCaffrey on his long road to recognition

Superb form in his tenth season as a professional footy player has Brumbies backrower Locky McCaffrey enjoying life, and with his name touted widely as a possible World Cup bolter.

But McCaffrey reckons he knows why people say nice things about him - his "Dad bod".

"I think a lot of the punters that throw out some support probably get behind me because they like the style of rugby I play and I probably have the body of a Shute Shield or club player, or subbies player, and they probably like that mate - the Dad bod," McCaffrey said.

"I don’t look like an amazing athlete or a Wallaby or a Test player."

In a feature interview with RUGBY.com.au, McCaffrey opens up about his long journey to the Brumbies, his disappointment about being on the sidelines injured after a strong start to the year, and how a Wallaby call-up would be a "dream come true".
