Brumbies flanker David Pocock will travel with the side to South Africa on Sunday after their 31-20 win over the Lions on Saturday night.
Pocock, who has been battling a calf injury, was slated to return to Super Rugby this weekend but he fell just short of being named.
Brumbies coach Dan McKellar stopped short of guaranteeing Pocock would return for next weekend's clash with the Stormers but said the star flanker would be in the mix.
"He'll be on the plane, I can't tell you whether he'll be good for next week," he said.
McKellar said he was confident that Pocock would slot seamlessly back into the team whenever he made it back.
"Poey's one of the few blokes in the country who can not have played for a long period of time and come back in and perform at an extremely high level," he said.
"His on-ball work but just the confidence he brings to the group. The opposition have got to worry about David Pocock.
"I think most teams would breathe a sigh of relief if he's not in the opposition."
Fellow backrower Locky McCaffrey will also be on the plane despite aggravating a medial injury and coming off in the 53rd minute of their win.
"He had a little medial (injury), nothing too major," McKellar said.
"He'll be on the plane, we'll just monitor him over the next few hours."
The Brumbies' two-week trip to Cape Town and Buenos Aires will be a pivotal one after their victory over the Lions at home kept them in touch with the top of the Australian conference.
It was a win the Brumbies desperately needed after nearly a month of consecutive losses and after the Rebels' Friday night loss to the Stormers.
After a slow start, the Brumbies controlled proceedings for much of the night and showed off their finishing abilities with some slick tries.
They had the benefit of a trio of Wallabies returning for the clash in Rory Arnold, Scott Sio and Folau Faingaa but it wasn’t their pack that had the greatest impact.
The Brumbies’ usually dependable front row struggled to get the early edge in the scrum, giving away three early penalties and three points in the process.
It was no. 8 Locky McCaffrey who was most influential early and replacement prop James Slipper added plenty when he came off the bench.
Flyhalf Christian Lealiifano led the way in attack, while rookie centre Tom Wright added plenty of spark in his best game since coming to the Brumbies.
McKellar had plenty of praise for Wright, who shook off an early sin binning and a mistake from a kick-off receipt to play a starring role in the win.
"You forget how young Wrighty is because he's a mature bloke for someone of his age," he said.
"It didn't rattle him at all. Then he had a crack off a kick off receipt but he spilt the ball.
"We don't dwell on errors, that didn't worry him he parked that and moved on and mad e good contributions.
"He'll take a lot of confidence out of toinght. He's a point of difference player and that's why we selected him and he's got a lot of good moments ahead of him."
The Brumbies were put at a one-man disadvantage when Wright was sin-binned just five minutes into the game and the Lions pounced almost immediately.
It took less than two minutes for the Lions to score with Wright in the bin, through superstar winger Aphiwe Dyantyi, who finished off an attacking chain started by Elton Jantjies.
A Tom Banks break set up the best Brumbies attacking chance 20 minutes in and through the fullback lost his footing on the left edge, a quick recycle kept the Brumbies on the attack.
Three phases later, McCaffrey crashed over to square things up.
McCaffrey set up the Brumbies’ second as well with a long range pass outside to Pete Samu, who sent it straight into the hands of winger Toni Pulu to score.
It was the Brumbies putting on much of the pressure as the half went on and they fell just short of a third try after a mammoth 17-phase effort deep in their attack.
Tevita Kuridrani added to the tally just shy of half-time after a Folau Faingaa kick gave the Brumbies a shot at the line.
Jantjies narrowed the gap with a 50th minute try for the Lions.
Banks added to an impressive night with a try off a long, outside Christian Lealiifano pass and the Brumbies began to assert their control.
Lions replacement back Sylvian Mahuza nabbed a late score for the Johannesburg side to rob the Brumbies of a winning bonus point.
The Brumbies take on the Stormers in Cape Town next week before a clash with the Jaguares in Argentina.
