Aussie sevens star Alysia Lefau-Fakaosilea returns for Queensland in their sudden death playoff against the Brumbies on Sunday afternoon. Queensland has named a near full strength side hoping to cement their spot in the grand final to face NSW.

Alysia Lefau-Fakaosilea has returned to Queensland's women's side for a sudden-death Super W playoff against the Brumbies.

Lefau-Fakaosilea returns to the side after touring with the Sevens side overseas and her comeback will be a handy one for an already intimidating Queensland backline.

Queensland's depth has been a weapon all year and they will have a star-studded group coming off the pine on Sunday afternoon.

Virtue said the bench, which contains ex-Sevens stars Georgie Friedrichs and Amy Turner, would be a major weapon.

“We’ve been lucky this season to have some serious depth within the squad,”she said.

“The players have joked throughout the competition, referring to the reserves as ‘The Bench of Doom’, but in all honesty, the impact players have been really important for us.

“Our match against the West Australian women in Round 2 was the perfect example of this, with the girls coming on and changing momentum in the match.

“It will take a full squad of 23 to get the job done this weekend, but I’m confident in the team and their abilities.”

The Queensland women will be bracing for a physical encounter with a grinding win in their last Brumbies matchup.

“The last time we faced the Brumbies we spent a lot of time in defence,”she said.

“The Brumbies starved us of possession and stopped us from utilising our dangerous backline. We need to take them head on this weekend and compete in the contact zone to ensure a platform is laid for our attack.

“The Brumbies have always been that team that sticks around and hunts you all day and you’re never really clear of them.

“Physically, the good thing was we came out of that match with no bumps or bruises and we have our near full strength squad available.

“I’d encourage Queensland supporters to get out to Ballymore on Sunday and show their support for the girls. This could be their last chance to see them in action this year, and the team really appreciates the opportunity to play at home in front of the Queensland Rugby community.”

Queensland's women host the Brumbies on Sunday March 31 at Ballymore, kicking off at 2:30pm local, 3:30pm AEDT, LIVE on Fox Spotrs, Kayo Sports and via RUGBY.com.au.
