Rebels playmaker Quade Cooper has been doing a lot more with new club Melbourne than meets the eye lending a helping hand at the women's training. Coach Alana Thomas says Cooper gave valuable insights in the lead up to their clash against WA.

The Rebels women have made wholesale changes to their side ahead of their Super W clash against Rugby WA at AAMI Park on Friday.

After conceding 181 unanswered points in their opening two games of the season, the Rebels have made dramatic changes to the side to face Rugby WA, axing eight players from their starting 15 and shuffling the deck as they look to improve.

Halves Wynonah Conway and Liana Pritchard-Matamua have been pushed to the bench, with Jesse Treherne and Meretiana Robinson to start in a bid to spark the Rebels attack.

Treherne has been called into the side from the bench, while Robinson, who has been among the Rebels best in a tough season, winning the nod at no.10.

While the backline has been mainly reshuffled, Rebels coach Alana Thomas has made mass changes to the pack, with only loosehead prop Janaita Kareta and lock Tiarah Minns maintaining their places, while Carmen Landkauf has switched from no.8 to flanker.

Thomas this week pleaded with fans to stick with her developing team, calling for patience while the players adapted to the standard of the Super W competition.
