Rebels prop Tyrel Lomax will have his first taste of New Zealand internationals next month, named in the New Zealand Maori team to travel to Canada and France.

Former Australia U20s prop Lomax, has been playing for Tasman in the Mitre 10 Cup and is set to link up with the Highlanders from 2019 and beyond.

He’ll have a familiar face in the squad with former Rebels 10 Jackson Garden-Bachop, now signed with the Hurricanes, another of the squad debutants.

Blues youngster, Akira Ioane, younger brother of All Blacks winger Rieko, will also be part of the squad.

The New Zealand Maori plays Canada on November 3 and the French Barbarians in Bordeaux on November 10, with the matches streamed on allblacks.com.
