The All Blacks are back to full strength this week, making seven changes to their side for their Cape Town clash.
New Zealand left a handful of players at home for its Argentina trip a week ago, though it didn't seem to worry the New Zealanders who cruised to a 36-10 win.
Cape Town will be a major litmus test for both sides, with South Africa desperate to redeem themselves after a record 57-0 drubbing in Albany.
All Blacks coach Steve Hansen said the mental toll on the side after some intense travel would be the biggest hurdle.
"We've settled in well in Cape Town this week. However, our preparation has been different because of the need to recover well from all the travel," he said.
"This has meant that there's been less time on the park and an even greater emphasis than normal on the mental side of our preparation.
"We know we'll be playing a proud Springbok side which will be determined to rectify what happened in Albany.
"While it's necessary for us to try and anticipate what they're going to bring to the match, it's more important for us to focus on what we're going to bring to the encounter."
