The Rebels have not slowed in announcing signings for 2018 and beyond, on Wednesday night locking in rising star Harrison Goddard.

The Australia U20s halfback made his Rebels debut earlier this season, and the club has moved to secure him for the next two seasons.

Goddard has been impressive at national level and improved immensely in Melbourne, CEO Baden Stephenson said.

“Harrison’s development has been fast tracked in our environment and he has earned the opportunity by working extremely hard, backing himself and his growth mindset to improve," he said.

Goddard, who is currently in Georgia with the Aussie U20s said he was grateful to have a Super Rugby chance.

“It's been a very enjoyable year so far, joining preseason with the Rebels then my Super Rugby debut to now representing my country," he said.

“The Rebels gave me my chance and since then I haven’t looked back, I'm grateful for where I am now and how much I’ve enjoyed playing footy in this environment.

“Melbourne is such a great city, with a powerful sporting scene, and I’m excited for the chance to contribute to the future success of the club.”

The Rebels take on the Force on July 8, the first of their final two  games for 2017.
