Ben Alexander will have to wait until after the Wallabies' June Series to break George Smith's Brumbies games record, ruled out of their clash with the Rebels.

Alexander sits equal with the evergreen flanker on 142 caps but was injured in training on Wednesday, pushing back his milestone match until July 7, when they take on the Reds in Brisbane.

Kiwi prop Nic Mayhew replaces Alexander in the starting side, after being a late withdrawal from the side in Buenos Aires, one of three changes to the team.

Andrew Smith has made way for winger Nigel Ah Wong in the matchday 23, while Tom Staniforth replaces Blake Enever as a reserve forward.

A win over the Rebels would all but seal the Australian conference, and only finals spot, for the Brumbies who sit nine points ahead of the Waratahs at the top of the conference.

The Brumbies will be looking to avenge a shock defeat to the Rebels in Melbourne earlier this season.

The Brumbies host the Rebels on Saturday night, kicking off at 7:45pm AEST, LIVE on FOX SPORTS and via RUGBY.com.au RADIO.
