Luke Morahan will stay in Perth until at least the end of 2017, exercising a second-year option with the Force.

His re-signing is a timely boost for the Perth team with a handful of players reportedly leaving the franchise at the end of the season.

Morahan's new contract comes off the back off a superb 2016 Super Rugby season that earned him his second Wallabies cap of his career, four years after his Test debut.

The speedster has played at the Force since 2014, joining the club after five seasons and 46 caps for the Queensland Reds.

“I’m really happy be to staying on for next year,” he said.

“Obviously when I signed on last year with the option to roll it on into 2017 I was really happy to do that and I always wanted to stay here and it was a pretty easy decision in the end and I’m excited for next year.”

Morahan, 26, has made a formidable combination with fullback Dane Haylett-Petty at the Force this season, in the 10 games they have played together.
