Injury-plagued Reds prop Ben Daley is heading west for a fresh start, signing with the Force for 2017.

While reports had been circulating about the move, Daley confirmed the club switch on FOX SPORTS' Rugby 360 on Wednesday night.

The 28-year-old has played 81 caps for the Reds during his career, though the last two seasons have been hampered by shoulder and pec injuries.

"They're a great team of guys to play with and I'm really looking forward to getting some good footy under my belt."

"It's secret I've had a tough couple of years and I still feel I've got a lot to achieve in Australian rugby and to be honest until the day I retire I'll still crave the chance to play for the Wallabies."

Interim Force coach Dave Wessels said Daley would bring plenty off the field to Perth.

“Everybody that we spoke to about Ben has said that he’s a fantastic character and he adds a lot to the team environment,” he said in a statement.

“Certainly he’s experienced and he’s been around professional rugby a long time, so someone like that in our environment is going to be very valuable for us.”

“We have a number of young front row forwards that are developing so to have somebody that has been around the block will be very valuable and good for us as a team.”
