Brumbies reserve prop Albert Anae has opted out of a second year with the franchise, with the former Queensland Red heading to Japan.
The 27-year-old signed with the ACT franchise ahead of the 2016 season on a one-year deal with an option for a second.
Anae has decided to link up with Japanese side Mitsubishi, in a move he believes is the best for his young family.
The prop hasn't played any Super Rugby matches this season, behind a Wallabies front row in Canberra.
Anae said he couldn't pass up the new opportunity, though he had enjoyed his time at the Brumbies after a stint in Italy.
“I’ve really enjoyed coming back to Australia and being a part of the Brumbies,” Anae said.
“It’s a great setup and I’ve appreciated the opportunities I’ve had.
"This opportunity came up and the coaches have been really supportive of my move. They've been great to me the entire time I've been here and made me feel at home.
"Rugby is your passport around the world so to be able to take this chance and share it with my family is a real blessing."

Brumbies interim CEO Phil Thomson said Anae had been a strong influence on the side's emerging props.
“Albert has been a great member of the squad and it is unfortunate to see him go,” said Thomson.
“He’s become a popular member of the team and everyone is sad to see him go, but at the same time we are all very supportive of this opportunity for both Albert and his family.
“Having Albert in the squad was a major benefit to younger players such as Scott Sio and Allan Alaalatoa given his Super Rugby experience and the professional attitude he brought to the club.”
