Australia is guaranteed to have a representative in the upcoming Top 14 final, after Montpellier set up a semi-final showdown against Toulon.

Capped Wallabies back Jesse Mogg played a full game on the left wing for Montpellier as they beat Castres 28-9 in their qualifying final overnight.

Scrumhalf Nic White came off the bench, playing the final 12 minutes of the game.

Montpellier were dominant in victory, with a three-try-to-nil performance putting them into the final four clash.

Their win pits them against Toulon who just pipped them for second spot in the Top 14 ladder at the end of the regular season.

The two sides have met twice in the Top 14 season, with a 36-21 win to Montpellier in their most recent clash after Toulon’s 52-8 drubbing of their rivals last November.

Dan Carter’s Racing 92 pulled off its own qualifying final win, setting up a clash with competition leaders Clermont for a spot in the final.

Carter booted a perfect six from six in front of the posts to help Racing Metro to a 21-16 win over Toulouse in that match.

Racing 92 takes on Clermont at 4:45am on Saturday morning (AEST), while Toulon takes on Montpelier at 4:45am Sunday morning (AEST).
