The Brumbies infighting might soon be over, after Michael Jones agreed to a settlement with the board on Saturday.

Jones began formal mediation with the Brumbies board on Friday, with the parties coming to an agreement that a hand over will be completed next week.

The agreement ends a long-running saga that began with an explosive radio interview from Jones in March, where he claimed he had information that could derail the Brumbies.

After multiple court appearances, the Brumbies said in a statement the board and Jones had agreed an expedient end to the dispute was best for everyone, in a bid to return the focus to football for the Brumbies.

Jones had recently won a Supreme court battle to maintain an injunction against his sacking, though that decision reinstated the ability of the board to sack Jones with five days' written notice.

News that Jones had agreed to formal mediation filtered through on Thursday night, with the discussions beginning on Friday.

The standoff threatened to turn even uglier after reports that Jones had reported co-captain Stephen Moore for workplace bullying and was taking action against backrower and board member Scott Fardy.

Brumbies chairman Robert Kennedy said the Brumbies could finally turn its focus

“I want to reassure our business partners, stakeholders, players, staff and members that the Board has full confidence in the remaining executive management team within the Brumbies and our current financial position to continue operations throughout the 2016 season," he said.

“We are immensely proud of our Rugby program at the Brumbies and once again we’ve had a positive start to the season both in terms of on-field results and crowd support. I would ask all Brumbies fans to rally behind the team and continue to show their support in what we hope will be another successful year”.
