The European Champions Cup is heating up, with a number of Aussies on track for a shot at the silverware.

Capped Wallaby Peter Betham will line up at outside centre for Leicester when they take on Racing Metro on Sunday morning.

The Tigers are vying for a shot at their third Champions Cup title, 14 years after their last crown, in 2002.

Racing ended Toulon’s Champions Cup reign a fortnight ago and will be looking to continue that momentum against Leicester, with former All Blacks flyhalf Dan Carter steering the French side.

George Smith will be lining up at openside flanker for Wasps when they look to continue a perfect record in Champions Cup semi-finals.

Smith has been one of the standout players in the English Premiership this season and the Wasps’ most influential players.

The 111-cap Wallabies backrower leads Champions Cup in turnovers (10) and tackles, making 94 in their matches  so far.

Wasps has featured in two Champions Cup semi finals (2004, 2007), winning both and going on to lift the trophy in both years.

Challenge Cup

James Horwill played a full match for Harlequins as they progressed to the Challenge Cup decider overnight.

Harlequins knocked Grenoble out of the competition to set up a decider against the winner of tonight’s Montpellier vs Dragons final four match up.

Nic White will come off the bench for Montpellier in that Dragons match as the French side strives to progress to the title match.
