Fans of Rugby Sevens will be able to feel closer to the Australian team than ever before when the new jerseys go on sale from today (Monday, 8 September).

Made by ASICS, fans will be able to purchase the main bright yellow jersey and the alternate navy blue men’s jersey that will be worn for the 2014/15 HSBC Sevens World Series.

The main jersey features a striking geometric print that is a clash of yellow and lime while the alternate jersey has a range of blue to navy. The jerseys are constructed from high impact performance fabric that is moisture wicking and feature the Australian Coat of Arms on the front chest, the Southern Cross logo on the upper back and piping through the shoulders. Both jerseys are available in adult and youth sizes.

The new jerseys will be worn by the team for the first time at an IRB event when the Qantas AustralianMen’s Sevens side plays at the Gold Coast Sevens on 11/12 October – the first event on the Olympic qualification calendar.

Allan Russell, General Manager at ASICS Oceania, said: “ASICS is delighted to be able to give Rugby Sevens fans the opportunity to buy the replica jersey the Australian team will be wearing around the world during the 2014/15 HSBC Sevens World Series.

“It is a fantastic opportunity for fans to show their support for the team, particularly with the Gold Coast Sevens coming up next month."

Qantas Australian Men’s Sevens Head Coach Geraint John said: “This season is without doubt the most important in the sport’s history here in Australia. We certainly won’t be taking anything for granted as we embark on our Olympic journey and we’ll need the support of the Australian public to give us the very best chance of making an impact at the Gold Coast Sevens and beyond.”

The 2014/15 Australian Men’s Rugby Sevens jerseys will be available to purchase via Wallabyshop.com.au, ASICS, Rebel, Amart Sports and sporting retailers from $149.00.

Tickets for the Gold Coast Sevens are available to buy now via Ticketek 132849 or www.ticketek.com.au, available from $35 (concessions) and $50 (adults). All ticket prices include public transport.
