We asked and you voted - Ben McCalman’s try-saving tackle on Wales’ George North was your favourite Wallabies World Cup moment.

The Wallabies had their backs against the wall after two yellow cards saw them reduced to just 13 men in their final pool match, against the Red Dragons.

In an eight-minute spell, Australia had to defend its own line against a barrage of Welsh attack.

Wales back George North surged towards the line but a desperate lunge from McCalman on the line.

Ultimately, the Wallabies kept Wales out under immense pressure, before Adam Ashley-Cooper forced a turnover deep in Australian defensive territory.

Australia’s win over Wales handed them the top spot of Pool A, the most competitive of the tournament.

McCalman’s tackle just beat out Bernard Foley’s last-gasp penalty goal as your favourite moment of the Wallabies’ World Cup, with 28 per cent of the vote, to 26 per cent.

Adam-Ashley-Cooper’s hat-trick in the Wallabies’ semi-final came in third, with 22 per cent of the vote, followed by Tevita Kuridrani’s try in the World Cup final (19 per cent).

Matt Toomua’s completion of a perfect team movement in the pool match against Uruguay received five per cent of the vote.
