Wallabies outside centre Tevita Kuridrani is starting to find his feet in the Rugby World Cup and says he hopes to carry his form into Australia’s semi-final.
Kuridrani had his best game of the tournament against Scotland, scoring his second try of the tournament.
His six carries over the gainline were the highest for the Wallabies in their win and almost doubled his World Cup tally.
Kuridrani said he hoped he would be able to carry his form into Sunday’s semi-final against Argentina, a game in which his power will be crucial.
“I got a few hands on the ball so that was probably one thing that we were trying to work on,” he said.
“I didn’t get much in the last two games but it was good to know I got a few and hopefully I can continue my performance from tonight and keep improving for next week.”
Kuridrani has crossed twice in this World Cup, taking his career Test tally to eight tries in 29 international outings.
While his individual comfort is continuing to grow in the tournament, Kuridrani also believes the team’s overall faith has grown off the back of their challenging run of games against England, Wales and then Scotland.
The 24-year-old said the Wallabies’ run of tough matches would give them belief going into the semi-final as their focus switched to Argentina.
“I think we’ve been playing challenging games ever since we played England, then Wales and (Scotland) again.
“It’ll probably give us a lot of confidence and belief in the team even though we were down the last five minutes, just the belief to still come back.
"I think after that we secured that the belief now in the team is high and it’s pretty good leading into next week with a lot of belief.”
