The efforts of the Qantas Australian Women's Sevens team have been recognised by respected health and fitness title Women's Health, with the team nominated in three categories in its I Support Women in Sport Awards.

In one of the hotly-contested categories the Women's Sevens team has been nominated alongside the Matildas (soccer), Diamonds (netball), Hockeyroos and Southern Stars (cricket) as the A-Team of the Year.

Australian Women's skipper Sharni Williams is one of five nominations as a Leadership Legend. The 26-year-old will be up against Madonna Blyth (hockey), Laura Geitz (netball), Meg Lanning (cricket) and Penny Taylor (basketball).

Women's Health has taken a glance into the future with a One To Watch category. 2015 World Rugby Women's Player of the Year nominee Charlotte Caslick has made the star-studded five-strong list that also features Brittany Broben (diving), Georgia Miller (ironwoman), Eleanor Patterson (high jump) and Molly Strano (cricket).

Now in its fifth year, the Women's Health I Support Women In Sport campaign "celebrates the achievements of our [Australian] athletes, from the women making a difference on a grass-roots level to those scoring world-class gold".
