Cheika: I don't fear failure

“I don’t fear failure.”

Those are the words Michael Cheika used to when asked about the massive task in front of his team.

The Qantas Wallabies return to Eden Park tonight aiming to claim the Bledisloe Cup for the first time since 2002.

“Steve Hanson has never been beaten at home, has been the leading coach in Test Rugby for many many years, and still his. His team is number one. Cheika said.

“One win don’t maketh the man.”

“We need to be consistent and playing well. We’re very committed to getting people proud of their team and enjoying the way we play the game, but they might not always translate into wins. “

Despite the Wallabies eight point victory over the All Blacks last week, Cheika has made six changes to his starting XV. The biggest surprise being the inclusion of Quade Cooper at flyhalf.

While Quade Cooper has struggled in recent times, Cheika continues to show the faith in his team and is renowned for bringing the best out of his players.

“This is about you doing your job for the team.” Cheika told Cooper after he was selected.

“He’s enjoying how we set up a ten [flyhalf] in this shape that we play, and he’s getting more confident in how that works.

“I just want him to enjoy his game, get out there and do his best”

Wallabies captain Stephen Moore backed Cheika’s comments on Friday by saying

“I have a lot of faith in Quade, played a lot with him and I’m looking forward to playing with him tomorrow."

A win for the Wallabies will end a 29 year losing streak at Eden Park and will be their first win against the All Blacks in New Zealand in 11 years.
