Lachlan Shaw

Lachlan Shaw has continued the legacy of great locks in the nation's capital after coming through the Brumbies pathways into the Wallabies squad.

Shaw remarkably started his career as a scrumhalf, with a late growth spurt prompting a move to the pack at the age of 15.

He came through the ranks of Brisbane Boys' College and eventually was picked for the Junior Wallabies in 2023.

Moving down from Queensland, Shaw got a taste of Super Rugby Pacific action in 2024 with a lone appearance off the bench against the Western Force.

But it was his time with NPC side Manawatu that expedited his growth, picking up the club's Rookie of the Year.

Shaw returned to Canberra and started most games in 2026, earning his call-up to the Test arena.

Wallabies coach Joe Schmidt showed little hesitation in picking Shaw, selecting him off the bench against Ireland in Sydney.

A maiden debut start would follow in his home state of Queensland, helping the Wallabies to a big win over Japan in Townsville.
