Josh Canham

Josh Canham is one of the biggest success stories of the Victorian Rugby system.

The USA-born lock made the move to Australia at a young age, coming through the Rebels Academy to be selected for the Australia U20 side in 2021.

The lock continued to grow and take on more responsibility, enjoying a breakout 2024 season that earned him a Wallabies debut against Argentina.

Canham had a highly productive 2024 campaign in 14 games of Super Rugby Pacific with his offload game (16) putting him in the top 10 across the whole competition.

He signed with the Reds ahead of their games against Wales and Tonga in 2024. This led to a call-up to the Wallabies squad to travel to Argentina after joining as an extra squad member for the Springboks Perth Test.

But 2026 would be his breakout year in gold, earning his debut start against Ireland and becoming a regular in the tight five. Canham became the first lock to record a Test hat-trick, etching the honour against Italy in Perth as he surged into contention for World Rugby Breakthrough Player of the Year.
