Tumut born and bred, Michelle Perry attended Tumut High School and went on to complete a tertiary education in Secondary Teaching at Bathurst CSU. After years of studying and then travelling the world, Perry now resides back in Tumut, where she teaches students with additional needs at Tumut High School. Perry represented NSW in touch football all through her schooling years. It wasn’t until University where she was asked to be a ‘fill in’ for the CSEwes Women’s Rugby team and Perry hasn’t looked back switching codes from Touch to Rugby, going on to play for the Brumbies in both 7’s and 15’s from 2013-2019.
2013-2015 were successful years for Perry, being named in the Australian Wallaroo’s Squad. Capped at #127, made her Test Debut for Australia against Wales at the 2014 Paris World Cup. Perry was set back in 2015, rupturing her ACL during a trial match at a Wallaroos Camp. After an extensive rehabilitation period, Perry earnt her spot back in the Women’s Brumbies 15s side in 2017-19. The utility back began her first Super W competition at full back, transitioning into the centres for the Brumbies in 2019.
