Burey heads into the 2026 season fresh from an outstanding 2025 Super Rugby AUS campaign where he was named Player of the Tournament following some stellar displays at fly-half. He has had to be patient in Super Rugby, with Ben Donaldson preferred at 10, but is now a genuine contender for that starting spot. Made his Super Rugby debut in 2023 as a 24-year-old after injuries to other playmakers opened the door for him. Previously represented Australia’s Sevens side and had a crack at making the 2024 Olympics squad. He’s studying construction management, enjoys golf and Shane Warne was his childhood sporting idol.
