In one of the more remarkable comeback stories in World Rugby, Greg Holmes has returned to the Wallabies squad in 2015, following an eight-season absence from the Test arena. Holmes’ previous Test appearance for the Wallabies was in 2007 at the Rugby World Cup in France, coming off the bench against England. The second-most capped Queensland Reds player won a Super Rugby championship with the side in 2011. Holmes’ return helped sparked a remarkable turnaround of the Wallabies scrum, contributing in the back end of games, making the set piece something for opponents to fear during their run to a Rugby World Cup final. The 32-year-old will be remembered for a scintillating runaway try against Ireland in 2006.
