Quick feet, cool head, cannon boot — Declan Meredith plays the game at full throttle. 

Raised in Queensland and cutting his teeth with Barron Trinity, Meredith’s rise started early. Representative honours with North Queensland and Queensland in 2018 confirmed the promise, but it was his bold move south in 2019 - earning a development contract in Canberra - that set the trajectory. 

At Wests Lions in the John I Dent Cup, he didn’t just compete - he took over. Meredith became the heartbeat of the side, steering them around the park with confidence and control. His standout 2023 campaign saw him claim the MacDougall Medal as the competition’s Player of the Year, stamping himself as one of the premier talents in the ACT. 

That dominance couldn’t be ignored. Elevated to the senior Brumbies squad in 2023, Meredith debuted against the Crusaders - a trial by fire that suited his fearless style. Equally comfortable at fly-half or fullback, he brings versatility, genuine pace, and a boot that can turn pressure into points in a heartbeat. 

Heading into the 2026 season, Meredith shapes as one of the Brumbies’ most dynamic playmakers - a sharp-eyed game driver with the speed to strike and the skill to control the contest when it matters most.
