Ben Grant

Born in Townsville, Ben Grant is a lock standing at a mammoth 205cm. His rugby journey to the NSW Waratahs has been a long and winding road, initially failing to make Queensland representative age groups when growing up on the Gold Coast.

Grant attracted interest from the Western Force during his Queensland Schoolboy trials and signed for them in 2018, playing for three seasons in the Global Rapid Rugby competition with the Force excluded from Super Rugby during this period.

He then had a stint in the US for Major League Rugby side San Diego Legion, playing alongside the likes of Ma’a Nonu and Chris Robshaw, before heading to New Zealand for North Harbour in the NPC and then the Hurricanes for his Super Rugby debut in 2024.

Grant signed for the Waratahs ahead of the 2025 season and featured in all 14 of our matches, with his set-piece prowess, particularly at the line-out, a particularly important contribution for the team.
