a full field is 100 metres long between try lines and 70 metres wide, with 10 metre in goal areas. Solid lines mark the try lines, the 22 metre lines and halfway. Broken lines mark the 10 metre lines either side of halfway, the 5 metre lines in from each try line, and the 5 metre and 15 metre lines in from each touchline. Goal posts sit in the middle of each try line, and flags mark each corner, the 22 metre lines and halfway.U8 plays on a quarter of the full field. The touchlines are the 5 metre line in from the full field touchline and a line level with the nearest goal post, about 27 metres apart. The full field try line and the 10 metre line are the dead ball lines. The try lines are the 5 metre line in from the full field try line and a line 5 metres in front of the 10 metre line, giving a field 30 metres long with 5 metre in-goal areas. Yellow cones mark the touchlines, white cones mark the try lines, red cones mark the dead ball lines, and corner posts mark each corner.U9&10 plays across the full field. The touchlines are the 5 metre line in front of the try line and the 10 metre line, giving a field 35 metres wide. The try lines are the 5 metre lines in from each full field touchline, 60 metres apart, and the full field touchlines become the dead ball lines, with the 5 metres between them as in-goal.
