Description
Assemble a small grid and divide participants into groups of four or more. Position one participant inside the grid with the remaining participants standing approximately two metres back with cones and a ball. On the Coach's signal, the participant in the grid must sidestep and avoid cones flicked by their teammates. If at any time, a ball is passed to the participant in the grid, they must attempt to catch it. The activity concludes once all participants have had a turn.
Equipment
- 40 x cones
- 6 x balls
Coaching Outcome
Participants develop their footwork, agility and vision in this fun activation game.
Change It
- Alter the size of the grid so that participants have more or less room to move.
- Require that the participant in the centre of the grid pass the ball back once caught. Repeat the process until the participant drops the ball and then swap with a teammate.
- Add in specific movements that participants must perform whilst avoiding the cones e.g. hopping.
