The Western Force is delighted to confirm the re-signing of exciting 20-year-old utility back Boston Fakafanua for a further two seasons.

Fakafanua is the latest player to re-commit to the Force, following on from Dylan Pietsch, Mac Grealy, Henry Robertson, Sef Fa’agase and Leonel Oviedo, after an encouraging finish to the 2026 Swyftx Super Rugby Pacific season.

Australia U20s international Fakafanua broke into that Force line-up late in the 2026 Super Rugby Pacific season, debuting in Round 15 against the Fijian Drua.

Prior to that, Fakafanua impressed across three games during the 2025 Super Rugby AUS competition, before earning his maiden senior contract with the Force.

He was previously part of Australia’s squads at the 2024 and 2025 World Rugby U20 Championships.

The young centre, who went to Sydney’s well-known rugby production line King’s School, previously came out of the Force Academy and captained the Force at Super Rugby Men’s U19s level.

Force head coach Simon Cron: “Obviously Boston has been with us now for a number of years.

“He’s an exciting, driven player. He is powerful and fast. He’s a pleasure to coach.

“He got his debut this year for us at the Western Force. We see him as a long-term player in our environment, so we’re thrilled he has re-committed with us.”

“I’m stoked to re-sign. I can see the club is going in an awesome direction and really want to be here for that.

“I thoroughly enjoyed my first Super Rugby season and was able to really develop my game playing alongside guys like Kurtley Beale and Hamish Stewart. I do feel like I’ve been able to grow a lot in a short period of time.

“Now, I’ve had a taste of Super Rugby, I’m hoping to kick on and become a mainstay in the side next season and beyond.”
