Waratahs Women’s Announce Team for their First Trial in New Zealand

Head Coach Mike Ruthven has selected a strong side to take on the Hurricanes Poua this Saturday in Turitea.

Experienced Emily Robinson is joined in the front row with counterpart Bridie O’Gorman and rookie Miller Parker at Hooker.

Tahlia Morgan will pair up with Annabelle Codey in the Second Row.

Ruthven has selected two of his dynamite players in the back row, including Leilani Nathan, who returns from injury, and skipper Piper Duck. They will be joined by Ruby Anderson at Openside Flanker.

The backline consists of Tatum Bird and Arabella McKenzie in the halves, Both Bird & McKenzie are favourites to be the starting pair for this season so building chemistry will be a high priority for this week.

Katrina Barker and Georgina Friedrichs resume their post in the centres.

Desiree Miller returns to the wing after scoring 4 tries last week, she will be joined by Maya Stewart who grabbed 7 of her own.

After an impressive fly-half start last week, Waiaria Ellis will move to Fullback.

With this being a trial Ruthven has the luxury of having an extended bench, in the forwards we will see Brittany Merlo, Georgia Chapple, Seneti Kilisimasi, Siusiuosalafai Volkman, Jayjay Taylor and Hollie Cameron.

In the backs, Martha Harvey will be the replacement half with Nicole Nathan to jump in the centres and Amelia Whitaker & Jade Sheridan for the back three.
