The Wallabies have named three uncapped players in their 37-player squad for July's Nations Championship Tests against Ireland, France and Italy.

ACT Brumbies duo Declan Meredith and Lachlan Shaw, along with NSW Waratahs enforcer Miles Amatosero, are in line for their potential debuts, with several Wallabies stars recalled for the opening games of the year.

"There have been ongoing discussions amongst the coaches for a number of months and, as always, there are some very good players who have not been selected for this first international window," coach Joe Schmidt said.

“We’ve settled on a group that we think will work hard and can perform well against three top-tier European teams with the added excitement of competing in the new Nations Championship for the first time.”

Meredith and Shaw are coming off breakout seasons for the ACT Brumbies, helping the club to the Super Rugby Pacific finals.

The Brumbies playmaker started nearly every game for the Brumbies alongside second-rower Shaw, which included wins over the Crusaders, Blues and Chiefs.

Shaw is likely fighting Amatosero for a debut cap, with the Waratah earning his first call-up to the Wallabies squad after his return from Top 14 club Clermont.

Meanwhile, Jock Campbell and Charlie Cale have been recalled to the set-up after strong Super Rugby seasons.

Campbell is fresh off the back of a brilliant season for the Reds, while Cale is one of several capped Wallabies back from injury.

This includes the likes of Tate McDermott and Tom Wright, both of whom suffered long-term injuries during the Rugby Championship.

All-time cap leader James Slipper is officially back after his un-retirement, while overseas-based stars Tom Hooper, Len Ikitau and Taniela Tupou are named, despite having to still finish their club commitments.

Angus Bell is already back in Australia and named in the squad following the completion of his stint with Ulster, re-joining the NSW Waratahs.

Queensland Reds duo Lukhan Salakaia-Loto and Matt Faessler are among the notable omissions, with Edmed, Nick Frost and NSW Waratahs fullback Andrew Kellaway also missing out.

The Wallabies will assemble in camp on Wednesday ahead of the Test against Ireland in Sydney, before facing France in Brisbane (July 11) and Italy in Perth (July 18).
